Chantilly Lace to return to downtown Wilmette and create ‘dream space’

Chantilly Lace has specialized in intimate wear and bra fittings in Wilmette since 1995. Seeking more space, owner Larisa Olson moved the shop in 2017 from downtown Wilmette to Plaza del Lago. Now, Olson is excited to bring Chantilly Lace back to the Village Center and into a storefront, 1177 Wilmette Ave., she’s long admired.

“I had always dreamed about 1177 Wilmette Avenue when we had our space on Central Avenue,” she said. “I would think, ‘Gosh, I wish I could have that.’ It’s all coming full circle now. It’s pretty cool.”

Best of Intima Magazine awards Chantilly Lace the Community Support award

The Best of Intima Magazine staged the Best of Intima Awards as a phygital event for the second year running, celebrating independent stores across North America. Chantilly Lace was awarded the Community Support award.

The event offered an amazing opportunity to see how the independents have been navigating these tumultuous times. In the light of this and in order to pay tribute to the resilience of intimate apparel retailers and boutiques, The Best of Intima opted to widen its list of finalists in a true lingerie celebration.

Chantilly Lace won the Philanthropic award for creating the Comfort Project, which donated gift bags to nurses working on the front lines of the COVID-19 crisis

The project was such a success that other intimate apparel retailers and brands around North America began stuffing hundreds of their own gift bags for healthcare workers. Fourteen of those brands are being honored with comfort awards.

“Through the Comfort Project each of these retailers was able to connect with their communities and make an impactful difference in people’s lives,” said Kirsten Griffin, visitors promotion director at Eurovet Americas. “They should be proud of the incredible goodwill they created and inspiring role models they have become for their charitable efforts.”

Wilmette’s Chantilly Lace lingerie shop survives ‘retail apocalypse’ with ingenuity, community service

When Illinois’ COVID-19 stay-at-home order shuttered Larisa Olson’s Wilmette lingerie shop in March, she was determined to find a way for her small business to survive.

Olson, an Evanston resident, created The Chantilly Lace Comfort Project, a goodwill initiative to thank nurses working on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic by donating and delivering boxes filled with comfy sleepwear.

While nurses on the front lines of fighting the coronavirus on the North Shore are getting less sleep these days, they’re sleeping better due to the efforts of Larisa Olson and her lingerie store, Chantilly Lace, in Wilmette.

The store, known for its custom bra fitting services, also sells sleepwear and other comfort clothing for women.

Chantilly Lace has started an initiative to support nurses during this Covid-19 Crisis

Larisa Olson, the owner of Chantilly Lace of Wilmette, Illinois (that we are happy to say was nominated, once again, for the Best of Intima Awards) has created an initiative to spread some positivity and comfort during this epidemic.

Jogger Predicts Gloom, But Boutique Blooms

WILMETTE, IL — One day in the gloomy yet vaguely hopeful winter of 2016, a man stumbled into Chantilly Lace looking a little disoriented but motivated. It was his first time in a lingerie establishment, and he was selecting a Valentine’s gift for his wife. We got to work choosing something a little sexy but a little cute. We found the perfect cami set & I started to wrap it. Life was good.

New Home for Chantilly Lace

Since Chantilly Lace moved from downtown Wilmette to Plaza del Lago, customers seem to be gravitating toward prettier lingerie

WILMETTE, IL — “I think it is the psychology of the environment. It is just a little more fanciful,” owner Larisa Olson told DailyNorthShore.
